NEW HOLLYWOOD GM BRIAN BARRETT INTRODUCES HIMSELF TO LEAGUE

By Brian Barrett
Hollywood Stars GM
SIMBL Contributor

Hello all.

My name is Brian Barrett. I am Dark Horse on the OOTP Boards, SIMBL Forum and in the SIMBL Slack Room. I am the new owner of the Hollywood Stars. I'll be wanting to move and rename them when I am eligible to do so. Because of that, I have been hearing Eminem's "Goodbye to Hollywood" in my head. Anyway, I'd like to move the franchise to Houston, Texas.

I am a fan of fictional world leagues. But there are very few of those. I was a founding member of the Laseron Baseball Association. I owned the Geo Bahn Rockhounds. I won one championship with Geo Bahn in the league's second season.  I went two the championship series two more times with Geo Bahn.  Once I had 3-2 series lead with the last two games at home and came up short. That's the thing about OOTP: the losses really stick with you. I also owned the Pines Verts in another fictional world league. I also owned the Buffalo Bolts of the Federal League and the Miami Knights in the Pennant Chase Baseball League.  I also got to the championship series with the Miami Knights, but I lost, again.

When it comes to trading I am generally conservative. I am most active when I first get a team, because there are usually players on the roster that don't fit what I want to do. And I will get more aggressive, if I am in the hunt for a pennant. And I like to make minor trades: minor leaguer for minor leaguer just to shape/balance those rosters. So you may get those types of offers from me in the off season.

My schedule changes all the time because of part time jobs. But I have a tablet and I have Slack on it. So I can keep up with what's going on in the league. So if you want l.

So if you want to talk trade, slack is the best way to contact me. I try to be quick about responding whether the answer is yes or no. And I am always willing to listen to counteroffers. And I don't waste anyone's time, if a player is untouchable, I'll let you know.

I'm still evaluating this Stars roster... but by SIMBL All-Star break I should have a good feel for the team.

I look forward to the competition with you all in the SIMBL.  to talk trade, Slack is the best way to contact me. I try to be quick about responding whether the answer is yes or no.
