ENFORCERS' WILSON & SMOKIES' LATTA CAP OFF RED-HOT APRILS, NAMED PLAYERS OF THE MONTH

When Adam Wilson stepped up to the plate in April, he did it with confidence and today he was honored with the Union League Batter of the Month award.

The young New York catcher posted a .295 batting average with 9 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 17 runs. Wilson also worked pitchers for 11 walks to post a .383 on-base percentage.

One of the more consistent batters in April, Asheville center fielder Hugo Latta grabbed Syndicate League Batter of the Month honors by hitting .383 with 31 hits in 81 at-bats.

He racked up 3 home runs and 20 RBIs, scored 21 runs.

DALLAS' BROOKS & CHICAGO'S BYRD WIN APRIL 2026 PITCHERS OF THE MONTH AWARDS

Despite the number of years he's been in the league, Ross Brooks still gets excited when he puts together a quality stretch like he had in April. The 28-year-old starter for Dallas was named Union League Pitcher of the Month earlier today.

He collected 4 wins and 1 loss with 38 strikeouts in his 5 starts, putting up a fine 1.63 ERA in 38.2 innings of work.

Craig Byrd's been around the league long enough to appreciate the honor he received today. After going 5-0 in April, the 33-year-old Chicago hurler has been named Syndicate League Pitcher of the Month.

He fanned 29 in 38.1 innings, logged an ERA of 1.41 and allowed opponents to hit .191 against him.

TEXANS' CROCKER & 'WOLVES' 'SUPER MARIO' NAMED 2026 SIM 4 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

At the age of 27, Vince Crocker might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Dallas first baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .500 batting average. For his efforts Crocker collected the Union League Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 12 hits in 24 at-bats, 3 home runs and 15 RBIs last week in 7 games.

This year Crocker is batting .357 with 4 home runs and 28 RBIs. In 26 games he has scored 15 times.

A battle-tested Mario Montalbano declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 34-year-old San Diego left fielder collected the Syndicate League Player of the Week Award.

He wrapped up the week with a .522 average, 12 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs, 4 RBIs and 5 runs scored.

Montalbano is presently hitting at a .369 pace with 6 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 15 times.

WESTBURY OFFICIALS RESPOND TO RECENT BRAWL CONTROVERSY

Cannons GM Atteberry Not Pleased With His Players Actions, Vows Such Behavior Won't Be Tolerated

In response to two controversial and intense brawls (above seen in the first melee Dallas) involving his Cannons players within a three day period in 2026 SIM 2, Westbury GM Bill Atteberry held a formal news conference addressing the matter which has resulted in two of his players receiving suspensions of twenty games total by the SIMBL League Office.  Cannons players, including longtime team captain Sean "Ice" Turner are reportedly furious at their GM for not 'sticking up' for them as both brawls resulted in opposing pitchers throwing at the team.  Turner indicated tonight via his Twitter account that he and a group of his teammates will be holding their own press conference within the next day to respond to the events.

WESTBUY-ON-TRYM (Times) - Following the third suspension of the season leveled by SIMBL Commissioner Christian DeMarco (Westbury has not forgotten the April 11th incident), Sir William Atteberry, owner of the Cannons, had a press conference to address the current situation. Also present was, Sir Ban Johnson, head of the British Baseball Association, Andrew Messersmith, head of the British Baseball Players association and Hugh Robertson, Minister of Sport and Tourism for the United Kingdom.

"First of all, I would like to state that we of the Westbury Baseball Club are against the type of poor sportsmanship displays which have occurred at Canfield Park. While the spirit of competition may be strong within all of us, turning a spectator sporting event into a street brawl is something we abhor among our supporters. Such acts of hooliganism is imply not tolerated in today's society. However, it is incomprehensible to us that professional athletes would demonstrate those attributes that we find unacceptable in the broader base of our society. It is difficult to explain to kids that brawling is unacceptable only for them to got to a baseball contest and see it from the players themselves.

We, however, understand that as an American sport, with American and global players, different cultures do pose a challenge to the English way of life. That being said, we do find a line of demarcation between the instigator and the responder. Also, British laws, as I'm sure my colleague from the British Baseball Players Association would be quick to point out, do have intolerance for trying to hurt fellow competitors. So in these last cases we find that having a player be targeted with a 90 MPH object, to fall in that category of a deliberate attempt to injure. In the case of the(Cannons pitcher) Lou Jones incident, legal action against Mr. Jones has been discussed. His future with the club is still being reviewed.

We would be remiss if we didn't look into mitigating circumstances for the incidents which might be corrected. The air, grass and temperature are different than most US locations and of course, it is a long flight. Unfortunately, there is little that can be done about any of those conditions. It ay be possible to travel earlier to allow some acclimation, but that to may not be always possible. However, we must also remind the commissioner as well as the other representatives of the SIMBL, that when they are visiting the UK they do fall under UK laws and while the league is certainly within it's right to establish league wide discipline, that does not exempt them from further discipline under UK law.

I'll now turn it over to the Minister of Sport, Mr. Robertson.

"I can only reiterate the comments of Westbury ownership, in that the display of hooliganism by professional athletes is unacceptable. We are initiating a full investigation of the SIMBL league and of the two recent incidents to see what measures can and should be taken. In conjunction with that I will be coordinating with the Minister of Sport Canada, Mr. Bal Gosal, at least as it relates to the Calgary incident but also in the context of the overall operation of the SIMBL league. Obviously there are some common laws and approaches here within the commonwealth of England. We will also work closely with US officials in addition to the commissioner, Mr. DeMarco.

We don't view the incidents closed by any stretch of the imagination, but we do want to stress our belief that all sides are agreeing trying to reach a mutually agreeable understanding."

There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Eddie Bryant, the Cleveland catcher, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the Union League Player of the Week honors.

Bryant piled up 12 hits in 27 at-bats, 5 home runs and 9 RBIs while hitting .444.

This year Bryant is batting .352 with 6 home runs. He has scored 12 runs and driven in 13.

At the age of 32, Matthew Boggs might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Hollywood catcher put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days with a .393 batting average. For his efforts Boggs collected the Syndicate League Player of the Week Award.

He racked up 11 hits in 28 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs last week in 6 games.

So far this season Boggs has gotten 24 hits in 73 at-bats for a .329 batting average with 4 home runs. His stats include 11 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has played in 17 games.
