2041 SIMBL GM AWARDS ANNOUNCED

Texas ace Michael Kilbane (above) wins his third UL Hurler Of The Year Award for the 2041 season.  The 34 year-old former #1 overall pick of the 2029 SIMBL Draft rebounds from a 20-loss season in 2038 and adds to his 2036 and 2037 awards.  The seven-time All-Star led the UL in ERA for the second straight season and for the fifth time in his career with a 2.54 ERA while going 15-12 with a 1.04 WHIP.  Kilbane, one of the top control pitchers in the SIMBL, walked only 33 batters in 262.1 innings.  Kilbane finished second last season for the award and led the Roadrunners to the 2036 championship being named the 2036 SIMBL CS MVP.

2040 SIMBL GM OF THE YEAR:

Sacramento GM Jason Gregory was voted by his peers as the 2041 SIMBL GM Of The Year.  Jason, who has been at the helm of the Giants since real-life date October 1, 2009 and since the 2016 season, led his team to a 26 game improvement from the previous season which ranks in the top five single-season improvements in league history.  The Giants made their first postseason appearance since the 2037 season and won their first SL West division title since the 2028 season.  The Giants made it to the seventh game of the 2042 SLCS losing in dramatic fashion to Norfolk.  Jason is now a two-time GMOTY winner also winning his first award for the 2025 season.

Westbury Cannons GM Bill Atteberry finished second while Calgary Clippers GM Christian DeMarco finished third.

2041 UL SLUGGER OF THE YEAR MVP AWARD:

At the age of 26, Pedro Santana of the Calgary Clippers could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2041 was good enough to win the shortstop  the Union League Daryl Ryles Slugger Of The Year MVP Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .300 batting average this year, as well as a .366 on-base percentage. He played 160 games and racked up 195 hits, 39 doubles, no triples, 41 home runs, 135 RBIs and 112 runs scored.

Kent Bennett of the Westbury Cannons:team finished second in voting, while Floyd Garraway Jr. of the Toronto Rush finished third.

2041 SL SLUGGER OF THE YEAR MVP AWARD:

The manager of the Boston Revolution said he thinks Hugh Gordon is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 24, but it will be hard to top the shortstop's 2041 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Syndicate League Daryl Ryles Slugger Of The Year MVP Award.

His winning campaign featured a .304 batting average and a .372 on-base percentage this year. In 158 games he piled up 195 hits, 34 doubles, 3 triples, 44 home runs, 108 RBIs and 121 runs scored.

Hector Colon
of the Hawaii Pineapples finished second in voting, while Keegan Bryant of the San Diego Warewolves finished third.

2041 UL HURLER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

There's less room in Michael Kilbane's trophy case today after he brought home the 2041 Union League Bobby Grimes Hurler Of The Year Award.

The talented Texas Roadrunners star finished the year 15-12 with a 2.54 ERA. He struck out 169 in 262.1 innings while walking 33.  It's the 3rd UL Hurler Of The Year Award for the 34 year-old previously winning it in the 2036 and 237 seasons and leading the Roadrunners to the 2036 SIMBL championship in winning the 2036 SIMBL CS MVP award.

Anthony Miner of the Calgary Clippers finished second in voting, while Cesar Martinez of the New York Enforcers finished third.

2041 SL HURLER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

The 2041 Syndicate League Bobby Grimes Hurler Of The Year Award has gone to Tampa Bay Silverbacks ace Joel Andrews after a stellar 19-10 season.

In 38 starts he piled up 287.2 innings, 198 strikeouts, 89 walks and a 3.19 ERA. Andrews held opposing hitters to a .229 batting average.

It's the second SL Hurler Of The Year Award in three season for Andrews who also won the award for the 2039 season.  Andrews also was the 2034 SL Rookie Of The Year.

Richard Nagy of the Boston Revolution finished second in voting, while Michael Martin of the Austin Dark Horses: finished third.

2041 UL MIDDLE RELIEVER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

At the young age of only 26, Junior Becerra has been named the Union League Middle Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2041.

The future appears bright for the Westbury Cannons relief ace, who captured the award with 4 saves in 85 relief appearances, 166 strikeouts in 195 innings and a record of 7-3 to go with his 2.95 ERA.

Russell Kirk of the Calgary Clippers finished second in voting, while Manny Soto of the Calgary Clippers finished third.

2041 SL MIDDLE RELIEVER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Zachary Duff was a calming influence out of the Las Vegas Hustlers bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 26-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the Syndicate League Middle Reliever of the Year Award for 2041.

The Early, Texas rookie won the award with 4 saves in 41 relief appearances, 43 strikeouts in 57.1 innings and a record of 7-2 to go with his 2.20 ERA.

2041 UL FIREMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Texas' 34 year-old closer Felix Urbina, now with the Boston Revolution, was nearly unhittable this past season and as such wins the 2041 UL Fireman Of The Year Award.

The Dominican Republic native made 68 appearances earning 33 saves with a stellar 97.1 save percentage added to a 2.06 ERA and 1.00 WHIP.

It's the second UL Fireman Of The Year Award in the past three seasons for Urbina who won it for the 2039 season with the Bend Bandits.  Urbina also adds to the few who have won both Fireman Of The Year awards and Middle Reliever Of The Year awards to their trophy cases as he also won the 2031 SL Middle Reliever Of The Year award.

Several players tied for second in the award as Urbina took 70% of the total votes.

2041 SL FIREMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Asheville Smokies closer David Virgil had a season to remember and was voted the 2041 SL Fireman Of The Year.

The 28 year-old wins the award for the second consecutive season.

Virgil, a former 7th overall pick in the 2037 SIMBL Draft, made 74 appearance pitching 82.0 innings, leading the SIMBL with 46 saves and a 1.76 ERA and 0.95 WHIP.  His save rate was 93.8%.

39 year-old Cesar Cruz of the Austin Dark Horses came in second in the voting while former 2037 winner Yok-sing Sutherland of the Chicago Hitmen came in a distant third.

2041 UL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD:

Anthony Miner's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Calgary Clippers and today he walked away with the 2041 Union League Chris Cota Rookie Of The Year Award.

The 25-year-old starter registered a 25-7 record this season in 34 starts. Over 259 innings he gave up 216 hits, struck out 214 and issued 73 walks as he held the opposition to a .229 batting average and fashioned a 2.92 ERA.

Anthony Guerrero of the Bend Bandits finished second in voting, while former #1 overall pick Doug Henderson of the Texas Roadrunners finished third.

2041 SL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD:

David Ellis put together some impressive numbers for San Diego to garner enough votes for the Syndicate League Chris Cota Rookie Of The Year Award.

The Warewolves third baseman took the honor by hitting .306 in 147 games this season and finishing with 181 hits, 23 home runs, 92 RBIs and 89 runs scored.

Aaron Latham
of the Sacramento Giants finished second in voting, while Zachary Duff of the Las Vegas Hustlers finished third.
