RIVER CITY WINS 2050 SIMBL CHAMPIONSHIP, BECOMES FOURTH TEAM IN SIMBL HISTORY TO REPEAT
River City Wins Second SIMBL Title In Franchise History
Rascals' 'Fords' Nearly Untouchable In March To Back-To Back SIMBL Championships
River City's 2050 SIMBL CS MVP Eladio Romriell (above) celebrates the bubbly after the Rascals defeated the Toronto Rush and became only the fourth champion in the SIMBL's 46-season history to defend their title and win back-to-back SIMBL championships. The Rascals' 9th overall pick of the 2040 SIMBL Draft is currently the 7th-rated positional player in the SIMBL and has been torrid the past two postseasons and has been a major offensive catalyst in helping River City win back-to-back SIMBL titles.
River City teammates start the celebration in a mob after they took out Toronto in six games to win the 2050 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series. It's the second championship in the second trip to the SIMBL CS in the franchise's 46-season history. The Rascals become only the fourth champion in the SIMBL's 46-postseason history to defend their title and win back-to-back championships. Ironically, it was their 2050 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series opponent, Toronto, became the second team in league history and first in 30 years at the time to win back-to-back championships back in the 2037 and 2038 seasons.

The 2050 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series has concluded and the SIMBL's 46th season of history is in the books.
Congratulations to River City GM Anthony Keence as his Rascals defeated Toronto GM Eric Savard's Rush in six games to win the 2050 SIMBL championship.
The Rascals defended their title from last season and become only the fourth champion (out of the previous 45) to defend their SIMBL championship joining the 2005-2008 San Diego Warewolves, the 2037-2038 Toronto Rush and the 2041-2043 Calgary Clippers in SIMBL postseason back-to-back championship lore.
A battle of two of the SIMBL's top-rated rotations, three of the games were shutouts with two being by River City including in the deciding 2-0 Game Six.
The Rascals started the 2050 postseason in historic fashion by sweeping their divisional rival Indianapolis and then surprisingly swept Rochester in the SLCS and then won the first two games of the 2050 SIMBL CS against Toronto to have won their first ten 2050 postseason games. Dating back to their 2049 SLCS Game Seven win over San Diego and four-game sweep of Miami in the 2049 SIMBL CS, the Rascals had won 15 consecutive playoff games before they lost to their former ace Jason Brewer, now with Toronto, in Game Three to end the historic streak which is the longest postseason win streak in the SIMBL's 46-season history.
The charter SIMBL franchise Toronto Rush made their fourth SIMBL CS appearance and their second in the past four seasons and have won two SIMBL titles in 2037 and 2038 when they became the second team and first in 30 years to win back-to-back SIMBL championships. The Rascals also won their second SIMBL championship in their second appearance in the SIMBL's title series. River City went 12-2 in this postseason and are 17-2 in their last 19 postseason games dating back to their Game Seven win over San Diego in the 2049 SLCS.
To add to his historic season, Anthony also was announced as the voted winner of the 2050 SIMBL GM Of The Year in the soon-to-be-announced 2050 SIMBL GM Awards winners making him the first GM in SIMBL history to win the award in back-to-back season in league history. Anthony now has won two SIMBL championships and has made the postseason 8 times in his 11-season SIMBL career after joining for the 2040 season. He now maintains the highest regular-season winning percentage of all SIMBL GMs in the SIMBL New File Era (2019-current though some seasons are missing of some GMs) of any SIMBL GM with at least 10 seasons of tenure.
After joining postseason lore last season by becoming only the fifth pitcher in the SIMBL New File Era (2019-current) to post 5 wins in a single postseason, River City ace Bo Ford won four more games this postseason to give him 9 wins in the past two postseasons in being a crucial part of the Rascals' repeat. Ford went 4-0 with a 2.39 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in his four postseason starts in the 2050 postseason. Ford has gone 9-0 with a 2.61 ERA in his nine starts in the 2049 and 2050 postseason for the Rascals.
River City's second Ford, Elbert Ford (no relation), went 2-0 with a 2.93 ERA in his four 2050 postseason starts. Elbert is now 4-1 with a 2.29 ERA in his 8 starts in the past two postseasons for the Rascals run to back-to-back championships after being acquired in a mid-season trade with Ann Arbor ten days after throwing a no-hitter for the Wolverines during the 2049 season.
River City 2B Eladio Romriell was named the 2050 SIMBL CS MVP and has been a postseason terror in the Rascals' run to consecutive championships the past two seasons. Last season, Romriell tied for the third-most home runs in a postseason in the SIMBL New File Era (2019-current) with 7 and tied for fifth-place with 19 RBI in a single postseason in 2049. This postseason he hit .298 with 2 HR and 5 RBI and a .900 OPS in 14 games.
Toronto's Mario Flores hit 8 home runs in the 2050 postseason tying for the second-most in the SIMBL New File Era (2019-current) behind San Diego's DeShaun Mack's ten in 2024 and tying Calgary's Carlos Molina's eight in 2019 and San Diego's Kory Stone's eight in the 2021 postseasons.
Keence has stated that River City will pretty much bring back the same team next season and will attempt to join the 2005-2008 San Diego Warewolves and 2041-2043 Calgary Clippers as the only champions to 'three-peat' in the SIMBL's 46-seasons of history.
Congratulations to Eric on a great season. The long-time Toronto GM went to his fourth SIMBL CS and his second in the past two seasons and became the 20th wildcard team to advance to the SIMBL title series. Outside of the SIMBL's remaining five original charter GMs: (Calgary's Christian DeMarco, Bend's Ted Williams, Bristol's Greg Checovetes, Boston's Dave Burgess and San Diego's Paul Ware), Eric is the longest-tenured GM in the SIMBL joining in the SIMBL's second season in 2006 and nearly 13 real-life years ago on real-life date February 1, 2007.
The 2050 SIMBL GM Awards will be officially announced shortly.
Congratulations to all SIMBL GMs on another, our 46th, successful, competitive and fun season whether winning or losing. The SIMBL New File Era (2019-current) now will roll into its' 33rd season of history as the league enters its 47th season.
The 2051 off-season is now here and the new 2051 team finances (pre-arbitrations) have been announced in the file. The official 2051 off-season SIM schedule will be announced shortly as 2051 team options, final contract extensions and arbitration offers are now due.

Raucous Toronto Ballpark Center Crowd Propels Rush to 8-3 Victory; Series Tied at 2
The Toronto Rush topped the River City Rascals by the score of 8-3 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Toronto starter Eugene Davis, who threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs in the win.
In the bottom of the fifth, Toronto left fielder Lawrence Richardson had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Richardson stroked a 2-run triple to right. It made the score 4-1, Toronto. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Davis.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Toronto Ballpark Center in Toronto. The scheduled starters for the game are Elbert Ford for River City and Paul Thompson for Toronto.

Host Rush Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
The River City Rascals moved to within one game of the Round 4 today, downing the Toronto Rush on the road at Toronto Ballpark Center by a score of 5-4. Rascals left-hander Elbert Ford was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Rascals a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series.
River City used the timely hitting of Corey O'Neal to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rascals on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said O'Neal.
The next game is scheduled for Friday. Slated to start are Michael Bates for Toronto and Bo Ford for River City.

SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series to River City
The River City Rascals were good enough to get past the Toronto Rush at Battlefield Park today and secure the 2nd championship in franchise history.
"When you wear Rascals on your shirt, you're good at something," River City skipper Anthony Keence told the press.
Rascals second baseman Eladio Romriell was named MVP of the series after he went .364 with 1 home run and 4 runs batted in.
"It feels totally incredible," Romriell said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."
The new champions capped off a great season with a 2-0 victory over the Rush to win the SIMBL Coveted Cup Championship Series 4-2.
